\"\"Hardware<\/h2>\n

Labor-Setup<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Die Arbeitsgruppe von Dr. Kathrin Ohla am Institut f\u00fcr Neurowissenschaften 3, Forschungszentrum J\u00fclich, entwickelte ein kosteng\u00fcnstiges Gustometer, welches f\u00fcr vielf\u00e4ltige Experimente im Rahmen der Geschmacksforschung geeignet ist. Das Setup besteht im Wesentlichen aus mehreren Niederdruck-Spritzenpumpen neMESYS 290N, zur Dosierung w\u00e4ssriger Geschmacksl\u00f6sungen direkt auf die Zunge humaner Proband\/-innen.<\/p>\n

Andersen et al. verwendeten ein gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils aus handels\u00fcblichen Komponenten bestehendes Mundst\u00fcck, um die linke und rechte Zungenh\u00e4lfte unabh\u00e4ngig voneinander zu stimulieren (Abb. 3). In dieser exemplarischen Untersuchung wurde zun\u00e4chst nur deionisiertes Wasser ein- oder beidseitig auf die Zunge aufgebracht; die 18 Probanden\/-innen gaben den Ort der wahrgenommenen Stimulation an. Um die Eignung des Systems f\u00fcr elektrophysiologische Untersuchungen mit hoher zeitlicher Aufl\u00f6sung (im Millisekunden-Bereich) zu demonstrieren, wurde bei einem Teil der Versuchspersonen wiederholt ein Geschmacksstimulus (Natriumchlorid-L\u00f6sung) ein- oder beidseitig aufgebracht und gleichzeitig ein Elektroenzephalogramm (EEG) aufgezeichnet. Die Auswertung der Daten zeigte wie erhofft eine durch die Geschmacksstimulation hervorgerufene neuronale Aktivierung. Die im Experiment verwendete Flussrate betrug 1 ml\/s und die Dosier- und Nachf\u00fcllzyklen wurden im System integrierten 3\/2-Wege-Ventilen (mit drei Anschl\u00fcssen, 1\/4“-28 UNF) automatisiert.<\/p>\n

Ein Schl\u00fcssel zum Erfolg ist die exakte und pulsationsfreie Dosierung des Stimulus in Kombination mit maximaler Reproduzierbarkeit, was wesentliche Hauptmerkmale der neMESYS Spritzenpumpentechnologie sind. Des Weiteren ist der modulare Aufbau f\u00fcr vielf\u00e4ltige individuelle Anforderungen erweiterbar sowie leicht zu reinigen, was aus technischen und hygienischen Gr\u00fcnden bei Geschmacksexperimenten sehr wichtig ist.<\/p>\n

Software<\/h3>\n

Das Forscherteam nutzte das „CETONI Qmix Software Development Kit (SDK)“, um eine eigene Python Integration zu entwickeln. Das sogenannte „pyqmix“-Paket verwendet die Bibliotheken (DLLs) des Qmix SDK und verpackt die C-Schnittstelle des SDKs in eine objektorientierte Python Schnittstelle. Das Python Paket wurde als freie Open-Source Software auf GitHub ver\u00f6ffentlicht (https:\/\/github.com\/psyfood\/pyqmix). D.h. der Quelltext steht auch anderen Anwendern, die Qmix SDK verwenden, zur Verf\u00fcgung und kann an eigene Anforderungen angepasst werden. Damit steht aktuell zus\u00e4tzlich zur Python Integration von CETONI, eine alternative Python-Integration zur Verf\u00fcgung.<\/p>\n

Zusammenfassend wurde ein Software-gesteuertes, kompaktes Setup zur exakten und reproduzierbaren Applizierung von Fluiden zur oralen Reizstimulation sowie elektroenzephalographischen Messung entwickelt. Die hohe Pr\u00e4zision des neMESYS-Dosiersystems erm\u00f6glichte dem Forscherteam in einem ausgekl\u00fcgelten Setup, gezielt und sehr reproduzierbar Geschmacksreize zu pr\u00e4sentieren. Das vielseitige Gustometer ist mit einer Erweiterung f\u00fcr die \u00dcberwachung von Multistimulussystemen geeignet. Zudem wurde auf Basis des CETONI-Software Development Kits (Qmix SDK) eine Python Integration entwickelt, die sogar eine Web-basierte Steuerung des Setups bzw. Fernzugriff auf die Hardware erm\u00f6glicht.<\/p>\n
